Owner and President - Sable Kitchen

Sable Kitchen is currently the President and majority owner of Adams Environmental, Inc. Ms. Kitchen oversees all business operations including project administration, contract negotiations, and financial management.  Her particular areas of expertise within Adams Environmental include research, writing, editing, and publishing of technical documents, reports, and proposals; ensuring the quality and timeliness of deliverables; and designing efficient marketing strategies and client development.  She also assists with field studies as needed.

Before Ms. Kitchen became President of Adams Environmental, Inc., she held the position of Business Manager and oversaw all marketing-related work for the company as well as performed all the work in coordinating and writing proposals for bids since early 2010. Her background in Health Administration, along with on the job training and learning experiences, has prepared her to lead Adams Environmental, Inc. into continued success as her counterparts did before her.

Vice President - Lynn Kitchen, Ph.D.

Dr. Kitchen has over 25 years of experience in working with ecological and environmental projects.  He has successfully completed NEPA Environmental Assessments, Section 404 permits, Section 401 Certifications, Natural Resources Management Plans, Mitigation Plans, Biological Assessments (as part of formal consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service), Wildife Surveys, Vegetation Mapping, and Stream Studies. 

Dr. Kitchen is very familiar with the NEPA process and is a strong advocate of public involvement.  He is experienced on both sides of NEPA issues, having worked with the public in fighting a controversial project and having worked with entities trying to permit a controversial project.  He has taught NEPA courses at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  He is also familiar with project management for large projects including the Land Use and Management Plan for Natural Areas of San Antonio, and management of natural resources for Nellis Air Force Base and the Nevada Test and Training Range (3.0 Million Acres) in Nevada.  He is currently working on several projects in San Antonio such as the San Antonio International Airport Expansion EA and Wildlife Hazard Management Plan, the Salado Creek Trail, and Conservation Easement Baseline Reports for several sites in the Hill Country.  Last, Dr. Kitchen has 14 years of experience in GIS database management and uses ArcGIS ArcView 9.2 routinely as a tool for virtually every project.

Senior Environmental Scientist - Brian Gottschalk

Brian Gottschalk is an experienced environmental scientist who specializes in fluvial geomorphology, aquatic biology, riparian ecology, physical geography, river/stream restoration, construction, and management, and environmental policy.  While completing his graduate work at UTSA, Mr. Gottschalk was a contributing member of the San Antonio  Metropolitan Health Department’s (SAMHD) Community Environmental Health Assessment (CEHA) team, a community-based forum tasked with researching and addressing urban environmental issues in San Antonio, Texas.  His areas of expertise include field biology, wetlands and waters of the U.S., stream and riparian corridor restoration, endangered species and plant surveys, and preparation of NEPA-based Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Assessments.  Mr. Gottschalk’s background in fluvial geomorphology has allowed him to serve as the lead stream designer for AEI for many surface water projects in Texas, Louisiana, and Ohio.

G.I.S. Analyst/Project Manager - Matt Kitchen

Matthew Kitchen has been employed in a part time capacity with Adams Environmental since 2000 and now works full time as the GIS Analyst after graduating from Texas State University. While with Adams Environmental, Mr. Kitchen has worked on various GIS projects including mapping for several military bases, which have spanned across the United States, from Louisiana to California. He specializes in GIS mapping, databases, and web page development.

Senior Secretary - Diane Dawsey

Diane Dawsey has more than 14 years experience working in office settings.  She started with Adams Environmental in October 2007 and currently manages the office for the firm.  Her responsibilities include tracking the firm’s expenses, billing and generating invoices for projects, handling accounts receivable and accounts payable, in-house printing and binding of project reports, and office receptionist. .
